Links to some of my favorite websites!

  1. First, click on the link provided to you via email to download your About Me Page. It will be in a .rtf file which can be opened in Microsoft Word, Notepad, and most other word processing programs. Save it in a safe place on your hard drive and open your About Me Page.

  2. You will see a bunch of text that looks like code - this is completely normal! There is a lot of text in this document but I’ve made it easy for you to know what to change and what to leave alone. Make sure that you only change what I’ve instructed you to change. Changing anything other than that can result in problems with your About Me Page.

  3. Scroll down until you see a span of about ten spaces around a single sentence in red text. This is how you can tell what information needs to be changed and what information needs to be left alone. You will see the sentence This is the text for your “About Me” header. It will look like this:

  4. This is where you will put your the text for your About Me Page. If you would like to add a paragraph, you can add a <br> <br> tag, it would look something like this:

  5. If you don't have any pictures to add to your About Me Page, you're done! Scroll down until you see the "Uploading To eBay" section for directions on how to upload your About Me Page to eBay. If you'd like to add a picture or two....or three...to your Me page, it's easy! If you don’t have an account set up with Photobucket, click here and follow the directions to set up a new Photobucket account. If you already have one, great!

  6. Log in to your account with Photobucket. Scroll down until you see your first picture and look for the "HTML Code" underneath it:

IMPORTANT! Do not use the "Email & IM", "Direct Link", or "IMG Code" tag - this is the most common picture mistake!

Copy the "HTML Code" simply by clicking in the box, it will automatically be copied (cool huh?). Now, go back into your About Me Page and add a <br> <br> below your text. Paste your HTML Code after the <br> <br>, like this:

  7. If you only have one picture for your page, you're done! If you have more than one, you can easily add more by adding <br> <br> after the code for your first picture, and copying and pasting the "HTML Code" for your second picture. It will look something like this:

You can repeat this process as many times as you like!

  8. If you'd like to add text after your pictures, it's easy! Just add a <br><br> tag after your pictures and then add your text, like this:

  9. Congratulations, you’re done! If you'd like to preview your About Me Page before listing on eBay, you can visit www.practiceboard.com. Copy and paste all the text in your About Me Page into the box at the top and hit "see HTML".

If something doesn't look right, please go through all the steps thoroughly to make sure that everything looks as it should. If you are still having problems, please copy and paste your About Me Page into the practiceboard and hit "see HTML". A web address will pop up, like this:

Email that address to me along with your problem to AmybugSells@comcast.net and I'll take a peek and get back to you as soon as possible with a solution.

Now you can scroll down for instructions on how to upload your About Me Page to eBay.

  1. Click on this link to go to your About Me login on eBay (a new page will open up) http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?AboutMeLogin

  2. Click on the "Edit Your Page" link:

  3. Choose the "Enter your own HTML code" option and hit "Continue":

  4. Copy and paste your About Me Page into the box provided and hit "Continue". From there, you'll be able to preview your About Me Page. If everything looks good, click on "Submit" on the bottom and you're all set!
